AGRICULTURE

For a fertile future: soil fungi and humus build-up

As a farmer, you know the individual needs of your crops and that the key to a successful yield lies in the soil. At MyPilz, we have made it our mission to utilise the potential of the soil even better through the use of regional soil fungi.

We find and propagate regional soil fungi for use on your farm. Using the latest sequencing techniques, we can also analyse the biodiversity of soil samples and identify possible differences in cultivation methods.

Our support is not limited to the technical. We focus on cooperation at eye level, with the aim of jointly increasing the fertility of your land.

CUSTUM RESEARCH

Fungal research at eye level

Research plays a crucial role in the further development and optimisation of businesses. At MyPilz, we offer customised contract research and specialise in giving you access to the latest knowledge and technology.

Our services cover a broad spectrum of fungal research. From isolation and cultivation of new species to identification, we master a variety of relevant techniques. In addition, we offer characterising in vitro phenotyping of your fungal strains and explore the potential of soil fungi as beneficial organisms. We are also looking at the role of fungi as recycling specialists, investigate possibilities for soil remediation through their use and develop innovative applications of fungi as part of modern composite materials.

Our goal is to expand the diverse possibilities that fungi offer in different areas of application through our work. With MyPilz, you not only get access to specialized services, but also to a dedicated team that wants to work with you to achieve your goals.

DNA-BARCODING

Identification of fungal species with DNA barcoding

Our service enables precise identification of fungal species using DNA barcoding of marker regions. If required, we also offer phylogenetic analyses to obtain more detailed information on the relationships of fungal species.

To collect samples for analysis, we provide special equipment to ensure freshness and quality.

Our experienced team extracts DNA from both fresh and dried mushrooms, herbarium material or cultures. This provides high-quality genetic information that enables precise identification of the fungal species.

The cooperation between MyPilz and öKlo within the framework of an FFG project is currently in the implementation phase. The project was previously successfully submitted and approved, and now the two companies are working to realise their shared vision.

The partnership between MyPilz and öKlo is of great importance for the development of sustainable solutions in agriculture and food production. By combining their expertise and resources, they aim to create an efficient and environmentally friendly method for mushroom cultivation. The project is made possible by the financial support of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), which underlines the importance and potential of the project. The implementation aims to develop an innovative cultivation technique that reduces energy consumption and minimises the use of chemicals. This approach will not only have a positive impact on the environment, but also improve the quality and productivity of the mushrooms.

During implementation, MyPilz and öKlo work closely with farmers and experts to optimise the method in a practical way and adapt it to the needs of the industry. Through this collaboration, they aim to make a significant contribution to sustainable agriculture and to make food production fit for the future.

As a mycological society, we strive to promote understanding and appreciation of the diversity of fungi. In this sense, we are very pleased with the excellent cooperation we have been able to establish with MyPilz.

In the course of our collaboration, we have entrusted MyPilz with a wide variety of fungal samples from our collections and herbaria for identification. MyPilz has professionally analysed these samples using DNA fingerprinting methods, which has greatly enriched our knowledge of the specific species in our collections.

Moreover, we are united by a common vision - the protection of fungi and their natural habitats. Our cooperation is based on the common endeavour to raise awareness of the roles that fungi play in our ecosystems. Furthermore, we pursue the common goal of researching and promoting the local diversity of mushrooms in Austria. Thus, our cooperation stands for the preservation and promotion of the fascination for Austria's mushrooms.

As a mushroom farm, we value quality and sustainability in our production. In this context, we are pleased to highlight our successful cooperation with MyPilz.

us develop efficient sterile techniques and thoroughly evaluating our hygiene concepts. Their expertise has helped to optimise our operational procedures and improve the quality of our breeding. MyPilz's support in cases of suspected harmful fungi in our breeding was particularly valuable. Thanks to their sophisticated identification techniques, we were able to react quickly and accurately to potential problems. With their help, we were able to develop strategies to prevent the spread of harmful fungi and thus ensure the stability of our mushroom cultivation.

We very much appreciate the partnership with MyPilz and look forward to a continued successful cooperation. Their dedication and commitment to mycology has deeply impressed us and we are proud to have them as our partner.
