Pilzfest · The Board Game

Welcome to the realm of mushrooms.

Pilzfest follows the life cycle of mushrooms. A journey of emergence, spread, decay, and rebirth. In gameplay terms, this means: growing mushrooms to collect points, spreading spores to expand your mycelial network, and finally experiencing the decay of your mushrooms to unlock special actions.

One of the most popular mushroom board games of all time is finally available in a German edition, lovingly translated by our best mycologist. Pilzfest features 69 artfully designed illustrations of mushroom species found in nature, creating a fascinating connection between aesthetics, gameplay, and nature.

We are committed to preserving and protecting ecosystems.

With every game sold, we support the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site Dürrenstein-Lassingtal Wilderness Area. For every Pilzfest, five square meters of the surrounding forest area are set aside from use for eighty years. In this way, you contribute to preserving the oldest ecosystem in Central Europe.

Mushroom Festival is a dynamic strategy game, a competition for space and resources to build your own mushroom kingdom. Mushroom Festival is for 1 to 4 players and lasts between 50 and 90 minutes. The goal is to collect the most points by fruiting mushrooms, spreading their spores, expanding your mycelial network, and efficiently growing more mushrooms.

Each turn, you have two actions available from six options. You can gain advantages through decay actions, stealing spores, or blocking opponents' fungi. You can develop your own playstyle, for example, playing aggressively to steal spores from others or disrupt their mycelial network, or more defensively to protect your own territory and spores.

The game board consists of triangular tiles representing different environments and nutrients that mushrooms need to grow. These tiles can be placed into play, causing the game board to constantly grow and evolve.

Featuring 69 beautifully illustrated mushroom species found in nature.
