Nature reserves protect habitats and preserve the genetic diversity of the complex microbial networks in the soil. These networks are crucial for the stability of ecosystems and for the regeneration of disturbed sites.

More than half of all species live in the soil. This microcosm is particularly sensitive to changes and can be therefore used as an early indicator of ecological developments. By conducting scientific analyses of the soil microbiome (i.e. fungi and bacteria), we can measure the condition of ecosystems and document the effectiveness of targeted measures.

Natural solutions for contaminated soils.

Pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), textile dyes, pharmaceutical residues and pesticides pollute many soils, which significantly restricts their use. Mycoremediation utilises the natural ability of fungi to break down complex molecules and regenerate soils over time.

For each site, we check whether the procedure is sensible and feasible. Based on this assessment, we develop sustainable remediation concepts using local fungal strains that are specifically adapted to the conditions of each site.
We support you throughout the entire project, from the initial planning stage through to the identification and characterisation of suitable fungi and their implementation.
